Leslie Gladstone

Leslie’s practice has been representing creditors, lenders, trustees and other fiduciaries since 1989 and she has been a standing member of the Southern District of California Chapter 7 Trustee Panel since 1998. She has served as chapter 7 and/or chapter 11 trustee in thousands of cases and has also served as Liquidating Trustee, Receiver, Disbursing Agent, Special Master, Expert Witness, Assignee for Benefit of Creditors and Examiner. She is Immediate Past President with the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, is a past board member with the San Diego Bankruptcy Forum, the San Diego Receiver’s Form and the Women’s Insolvency Network. She is also a member of the United States Bankruptcy Court Mediation Panel and frequently serves in the capacity as Court-Appointed and/or privately retained Mediator. In addition to her practice as court-appointed trustee, disbursing agent, assignee, receiver and mediator, Leslie also represents creditors, lenders, landlords and business owners in all aspects of business, financial, real estate and insolvency law.

Leslie graduated cum laude from Pepperdine University School of Law and was editor of the Pepperdine Law Review. During law school, she served as judicial extern to the Honorable Barry Russell in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California and also worked as a teaching assistant in Business Reorganizations. Before founding Financial Law Group in 1998, Leslie worked first as an associate and then as “of counsel” with Gray Cary Ames & Frye aka Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich, at the time the largest law firm based in San Diego.

Leslie has served on the board and as chairperson of Angels Foster Family Agency, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing loving homes for foster children in San Diego. She was also a foster parent from 2003-2005 and then adopted her youngest daughter in 2005. (858) 294-0220

Christin Batt

Christin’s practice focuses primarily on representing fiduciaries in all aspects of administering bankruptcy, receivership, and assignment estates, with special emphasis on prosecuting avoidance actions for the benefit of creditors. Christin’s clients include chapter 7 trustees, chapter 11 trustees, liquidating trustees, receivers, fiduciaries, and assignees for the benefit of creditors. Christin has prosecuted well over 135 adversary proceedings in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and her practice includes appellate cases before the U.S. District Court, the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Christin also represents non-fiduciary clients, and past matters have included security interests, UCC foreclosure sales, assignments of intellectual property, commercial real estate, and avoidance-action defense.

Christin graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, San Diego, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She went on to graduate cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law and was awarded Order of the Coif. At law school, Christin served as Senior Executive Editor of San Diego Law Review.

Before joining Financial Law Group in early 2009, Christin was an associate for six years at Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis. LLP where her practice included bankruptcy and creditor’s rights, complex structured-financing transactions, and commercial real estate.

Christin is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation, INSOL International, National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, California Bankruptcy Forum, and San Diego Bankruptcy Forum. Christin’s most rewarding personal work includes having served from 2009 to 2024 on the Board of Angels Foster Family Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating safe, stable, loving homes for infants and toddlers in foster care throughout the County of San Diego, California. Sandy Young

Sandy Young came to Financial Law Group in 2010 shortly after completing her paralegal certificate through UCSD’s ABA-approved certificate program for paralegals. She keeps a relationship with San Diego Paralegal Association along with the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees to further enhance her educational profile and knowledge base. Sandy is a Notary Public with the State of California.

Growing up in San Diego County, she is a product of local education achieving her Bachelors of Arts degree in legal studies at National University and her Associates degrees from Southwestern Community College.

Her work experience has been spread over three major sectors: transportation, media, and most recently, law. The road that travels through each sector into the next brings about a dedicated professional who does not shy from deadlines or the unusual. Candi Collins

Tawana “Candi” Collins has more than 35 years of experience in the bankruptcy profession, including as a paralegal, trustee assistant, and since 2004 is FLG’s office administrator. Candi maintains professional relationships with personnel at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and the Office of the U.S. Trustee as well as chapter 7 trustees, debtors’ counsel, creditors’ counsel, trustees’ counsel, and accounting professionals throughout the Southern District of California. From 1997 until 2021, Candi was a Notary Public with the State of California. She is also a longtime member of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. (858) 294-0215
